- People of all authenticities are encouraged to register.

- Ethnicity is crucial to when matching patients with donors.

- The current NMDP registry has more than 8 million registered donors. Only 25 % of the current U.S National Registry consists of ethnic minorities. (Asian, Pacific Islander, African American Black, Hispanic, Latino, Native American, Multi Race)

- Only 35,000 Filipinos are in the registry.
