Las Vegas is known for many things — neon lights, iconic shows, and nightlife that never sleeps. But for me, the city means something more personal. It’s where I got my first real shot. My longest-tenured residency, and arguably the most defining chapter of my Vegas career, began at the now-defunct LIGHT Nightclub at Mandalay Bay.
When LIGHT first opened, it wasn’t just another venue — it was a movement. Powered by Cirque du Soleil’s creative vision, it blurred the lines between a DJ set and a full-blown performance. For a DJ like me, coming from the Bay Area grind and cutting my teeth on real turntablism, that room represented the biggest stage I had ever touched.
The lights, the energy, the pressure — all of it forced me to level up. Every night was a test: Can you hold this crowd? Can you adapt when a celebrity wants a surprise performance? Can you bring your city’s culture to the Strip?
I showed up, night after night, and those decks became my proving ground.
LIGHT may no longer be here physically, but what it gave me lasts forever. It built my confidence, my presence, and most importantly, my Las Vegas legacy.
To every up-and-coming DJ wondering when your break will come — stay sharp, stay consistent, and when that light hits you, don’t flinch.
The club may be gone, but the culture never dies.
More to come…
